So, my family and I went to our local grocery store this week. My toddler knows what that means; free cookie!!!! He headed straight to the back of the store like a shopper on Black Friday. Once he got to the promised land that is the bakery, he placed himself right in front of the door to the back room. Ready to receive his bounty. The nice employee saw him pointing and went to hand him a cookie. “Whoa, she is going to give it to me,” ran through my little ones mind. Normally, they give it to my wife or myself and we hand it to him in pieces, but part of leveling up in ones life is to hold your own cookie. After a little hesitation, he took his prize. This was followed by his happy dance, a mix of his arms waving back and forth and him kicking his legs up rapidly. This appeared to be the end of the story as we walk back to mom, but little did we know, a spy was in our presence. Another boy, who had a few months on mine, witnessed the whole encounter. His mom then said ” Well, I guess you know about the free cookie now.” Well, good job family, we popped the free cookie bubble for that family, lol. For this child’s mother, one can only hope that her child has a short memory or will suffer the same fate as my family.
